Planning your content
Checked against the app on .
The Plan tab proposes the articles worth writing for your business over the coming months, each with the search term it targets, how many people search for it, and why it was chosen. You approve the ones you want and cpywrk turns them into article requests. The Plan tab carries a Beta label and is switched on per account; if you do not see it, ask us.
Before the first plan
A plan is built from your brand profile, so that comes first. If the profile is missing, the tab says “Brand profile required” with a button to set it up. If it exists but is thin, the plan stops rather than guess and tells you what is missing under “What’s missing”, with buttons to complete the profile or the business details.
Generating a plan
Click “Generate content plan” and choose two things: how many articles per month (1 to 12) and how far ahead (1 to 3 months). The summary line shows the total, for example “6 articles across 3 months”. Click “Generate plan”. A short narrative shows what is being done; it usually takes a few minutes, and you can leave the page and come back.
If the topics that come back do not fit what your business does, the tab says “Something doesn’t add up” and asks you to update the brand profile first, rather than show a plan you would have to throw away.
Reading the plan
At the top, one sentence says how cpywrk understood your business, for example “We treated Acme as a specialist B2B business.” If that is wrong, click “Not right?”, describe your business in your own words, and click “Regenerate plan”. Your description is kept and used for every later plan.
Below it, a line names the competitor the plan was measured against. If it picked the wrong one, “Tell us who they really are” takes you to the brand profile.
The topics are grouped by month. A month is a planning horizon, not a publishing date; nothing is scheduled by the plan. Each topic shows:
- its title and the search term it targets, with the monthly search volume where known;
- signals such as “Growing”, “Easy to win” or “Competitors rank for this”;
- a sentence explaining why it was chosen.
Under the months, “More opportunities” lists extra topics found during competitor research. They do not take a slot in your plan; approve any you like.
Deciding on topics
- Approve: tick the box. The topic shows “Approved”.
- Decline: click Decline. cpywrk offers replacements, grouped into “Your ground” (from your own profile) and “Competitor’s ground” (terms a competitor ranks for that you do not). Pick one, or “Remove from plan without replacing”. If nothing suitable is ready, a new topic is written for the slot in under a minute.
- Restore: a declined topic can be put back.
When you have approved topics, a bar at the bottom says how many and offers “Create N articles”. Click it and each approved topic becomes an article request, visible on the Content tab and marked “In progress” in the plan. Articles are written one by one from there, with the same reviews as any other article.
Regenerating
“Regenerate” replaces the whole plan. Topics you approved but had not yet turned into articles are lost, and the tab warns you before it does that. Articles already created are not affected.
