They search the problem,
not the marketplace
By the time a merchant is browsing apps, the shortlist is being ordered by rules you do not set. Before that, they were describing the problem in their own words, somewhere you can actually be.
Written for companies whose product lives inside a marketplace they do not own, where the listing is the storefront and the rules belong to someone else.

What changes here
Your first impression is a page you rent
The evaluation starts inside your listing, and almost none of it is yours. Where you land in a marketplace search is decided by rules you did not set, cannot see and cannot appeal. The category you sit in, the row of similar apps printed underneath your own name, the reviews at the top of the page: someone else's call, every one. You can rewrite the description and reshoot the screenshots. That is roughly the extent of it.
So the useful question is not how to win a search you cannot watch. It is where else the decision gets made. It gets made earlier, while a merchant is still working out what is wrong: the checkout that keeps losing people at the shipping step, the stock that oversells whenever there is a sale, the returns queue that stopped being a queue. None of those searches contains the word app.
Every one of them lands on a page. That page can be yours, on the one surface in this business where you decide what it says and when it goes live. cpywrk writes for that surface and publishes to it.
The listing is rented
Ranking, category, the similar apps row and the reviews are the marketplace's decisions. You get the copy and the screenshots.
Your site is owned
The page, the words, the publishing date and the day you change your mind are all yours. That is where these articles go.
Nothing touches the listing
cpywrk publishes to your own site. It does not post to a marketplace and it does not change what a marketplace decides.
What content cannot do is push your listing up a marketplace search. Nobody outside the marketplace can promise that, and we are not going to. What it can do is reach the merchant before the search happens, and give them somewhere to land that you control.
The work itself
The merchant was never shopping for an app
They were shopping for the end of a problem. Why full baskets die at the shipping step. How to stop selling stock that is not there. What to do when returns take a full day a week. Whoever answers that question properly is in the conversation before anybody opens a marketplace and starts comparing tiles.
Answering it also lets you say things a listing structurally cannot. A listing exists to describe a product inside a template. It cannot walk through the problem, admit which shops your app is wrong for, or explain what the first week after install actually involves. Your own pages can, and those are the ones a merchant reads while they are still deciding whether this is worth the risk.
It is also the version an assistant can work from. Somebody asks which app fixes the problem and reads what comes back. There is little in a template to lift and quote; an article that answers the question in full, sources named, is another matter. cpywrk grades every article on exactly that.
Name the problem, not the product
Write the sentence a shop owner would actually type, then answer it in full. Your app arrives late in the piece, or not at all.
Say who it is wrong for
The fastest way to be trusted by somebody who has been burned by an install. A listing cannot afford that sentence. A page you own can.
Show the first week
What connecting it involves, what it touches, what the store looks like afterwards. This is what the reviews are really arguing about.
Write it to be quotable
A direct answer near the top, claims attached to named sources, sections that stand alone. One of the six checks, graded before you see the draft.
The people you sell to are running shops, and how a shop owner searches is a subject of its own. The page we wrote for them is a useful read for anyone writing in their direction.
Your listing still has to do its job, and none of this replaces it. What changes is where a merchant is standing when they first meet your name: inside an article that solved their problem, rather than nine rows down a search you never get to see.
Where it ends up
A finished article still has to get onto the site
The marketplace decides what your listing looks like and where it sits. Your own site is the one surface where you choose the page, the words and the day it goes live, and that is where these articles land. Nothing cpywrk does goes near your listing.
Webhook, into your own build
The finished article, its metadata and its images are handed to whatever builds your site, so publishing stops waiting for an engineer to have a free afternoon.
WordPress, direct
If the marketing site runs on WordPress, connect it once. After that it is one button: press Publish and the article is live, formatted.
Publishing can also run on a schedule you set: a date and time per article in your own time zone, or a batch at one or two a day. Any scheduled article can be rescheduled or cancelled.
The LinkedIn, X and Instagram versions come out of the same brief, written for how each one reads. Those are yours to post when you choose. We write them; we do not post them for you.
Before it reaches you
Six checks, every article, before anyone reads it
A merchant reading you for the first time is deciding whether to let an unfamiliar company into the system their business runs on. That is a lot to rest on one loose paragraph, and it is why the checks below run before a draft reaches you.
Search
It targets a question people actually type, and it is built to rank for it.
AI answers
Buyers now ask an assistant to draw up the shortlist. The article is structured so those systems can quote it.
Brand voice
It sounds like your company, checked against rules you set once rather than re-explained every time.
Machine tells
Hedging, filler and the giveaway phrasing are removed before the draft reaches you.
Brief compliance
It covers what the brief said it would, rather than drifting somewhere easier to write.
Learnings
Corrections you made last month are applied this month, so you stop repeating yourself.
Before a draft reaches you it has also been checked for claims the research does not support, and every source link has been checked live. See every step up close.
You approve the outline before writing starts and read the draft before it publishes. Nothing goes onto your site that a person has not said yes to.
Proof
Read something it made and judge for yourself
We are not going to show you another vendor's traffic chart. What we can show you is our own work. Every article on this blog came out of the same system this page is describing: researched, written, checked, and published, then read and approved by a person before it went out.
The subject is content and search rather than your category, because that is what we sell. Read one anyway and answer the only question a sample can settle: is this the standard you would put your company's name on?
Read the blogQuestions worth asking first
- Will this move us up the marketplace ranking?
- No, and nobody outside the marketplace can promise that. Ranking there runs on rules you do not set and cannot appeal, and cpywrk does not touch your listing. What content changes is the step before: the merchant searching the problem in their own words, well before they open a marketplace at all. That search lands on a page, and the page can be yours.
- Can cpywrk publish to our marketplace listing?
- No. It publishes to a site you own: WordPress connects directly, Shopify too if your own site runs on it, and anything else takes the finished article through a webhook. What it produces is long-form articles for your site, not marketplace listing copy.
- Our buyers do not know apps like ours exist. What do we write about?
- The problem, in the words they would use for it. The basket abandoned at the shipping step. The stock that oversells every time there is a sale. The returns queue nobody has time for. Those are the searches a merchant makes before the word app occurs to them. Which ones they actually type is a research job, and cpywrk does it before anything is written, so the article exists because somebody is already looking for it.
- Somebody asks an assistant which app to use. Can we do anything about that?
- You can be the source it has to work from. A listing is written to fit a marketplace template, so there is little in it to lift and quote. An article that answers the question in full, with a direct answer near the top and its sources named, gives an assistant something to use. cpywrk grades every article on that. It makes the article quotable; it cannot make it quoted, and no tool today will tell you how often an assistant cited your page.
